Summer Outings

0

DPS members have been on one or two summer outings already. Saturday 30th April to St Cyrus National Nature Reserve, a trip which allowed for lots of different photographic interests, but mainly birds and beaches. It was a beautiful sunny day. Long lenses were out for the birds and grad filters for the beaches. Even the big stopper made an appearance!!

Saturday 14th May to bluebell woods at Kinclaven near Blairgowrie. The thick carpet of bluebells was in full flower. The weather was good, perhaps just a little windy.
Clouds passing over quickly and light coming though the trees gave a lovely dappling effect.
It was time to get up close and personal. Macro lenses were out in full force.

Saturday 21st May to the Isle of May. Despite the weather forecast, this was a fantastic trip. The bad weather held off and we spent a lovely sunny morning on the Isle.
The strong winds meant the birds in flight were literally hovering right in front of our lenses making great photos. There were some chicks just hatched and hundreds of puffins flying about

We had been warned that the journey back would be a bit rough! That was an understatement! But it didn’t stop us five very happy photographers heading for a well earned fish supper on our return to the harbour.
